Dr Shivani Patel is a Visiting Endocrinologist at St. Vincent’s Hospital Sydney and Garvan Institute of Medical Research and a Conjoint Lecturer at the University of New of South Wales.
Dr Patel completed her Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery at Western Sydney University, following which she completed her medical training at various hospitals across Sydney.
She has completed a PhD in autoantibody-negative type 1 diabetes through the University of New of South Wales and the Garvan Institute of Medical Research. She is involved in teaching medical students and training doctors through her Conjoint Lecturer role. She has published her research in international peer-reviewed journals and presented at national diabetes and endocrinology meetings. She enjoys attending annual conferences and strives to keep up-to-date to deliver evidence-based care. Her patient-centred approach makes Dr Patel a dedicated, caring Endocrinologist.
Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her family and two young children.
